GCL announces majority stake acquisition of Singapore-based mobile games studio goGame

Updated: Sep 15, 2020

SINGAPORE (June 1, 2020) – Grand Centrex Limited (GCL) today announced an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Go Game Pte Ltd (goGame), a leading independent mobile game development studio in Singapore. goGame brings an experienced pool of talent in mobile games publishing services and development, with original titles featuring popular branded properties such as Nickelodeon Pixel Town and Adventure Time Heroes on the Apple iOS and Google Android platforms. It has also played key development roles in more than 50 mobile game titles published by global entertainment brands. Financial details are not disclosed.

“The goGame team, led by industry veteran David Ng, has successfully helped international brands to translate their entertainment properties to mobile successes in Asia,” said Choo See Wee, Chairman of GCL. “Having them as part of GCL will accelerate our position the regional powerhouse in games and interactive entertainment.”

goGame is GCL’s first large acquisition after Choo consolidated his video games distribution giant Epicsoft Asia Pte Ltd under the GCL umbrella in 2018. This agreement also follows GCL’s 2018 establishment of Titan Digital Media Pte Ltd, an influencer and digital marketing agency co-owned and managed by Tan Jian Hao, Singapore’s top YouTube creator.

Choo continued, “The added technical and publishing expertise of goGame, combined with the distribution strength of Epicsoft Asia and creative talent of Titan Digital Media, will help to drive GCL’s strategy to generate value for investors and own a stake in the mobile games industry, from helping our partners build their IP, to marketing, distribution and sales both on retail and digital channels. Our aim is to become an Asian powerhouse in delivering top selling, high quality games across smart devices, consoles, PC and streaming platforms.”
